I cleaned the brass well on both the fan and the vents.
Can you spray paint ceiling fan blades.
When the blade s top side is almost dry turn it over to paint the underside.
Allow them to air dry.
Once it s ready to go spray the blades and or hardware pieces with a thin even coat.
I left the main part of the fan in place and just removed the blades.
But i did not sand the brass.
Apply several thin coasts allowing each coat to dry before applying the next coat.
As you can see i removed only the blades and i covered the bulb sockets with tape.

Once you ve completely finished painting your fan take a moment and let it dry.

Having your ceiling and fan blades painted the same flat white color helps the blades blend into the ceiling and almost disappear.
Doing it this way i could paint the fan by myself.
Spray fan with clear primer.
All you need to complete the project is a friend and some simple tools.
When you spray you want to spray 6 to 8 inches away from the surface and work in a side to side motion across the blade so you get an even coat.
You can remove the fan from the ceiling and take it outside to spray paint or you can do what i did.
You could use generic liquid primer but this stuff is much less messy and goes on easier and more evenly.

Assembling painted fan blades.
Of course now i recommend taking the fan down and outside to spray the parts and then reinstall.
You should re assemble the fan unit only when the fan blades have completely dried.
